Highlights for Upcoming 2015-2016 Season

Posted on Sun, July 12, 2015

For the AMMFHL, the 2015-2016 season will once again feature a Provincial Championship tournament to determine our league champion. The tournament was a huge success and we look forward to another successful event this coming season. Shootouts are also returning this season with no changes to their formatting. Our leagues will be hosting an Allstar game on Jan 3rd. This event will be hosted by Rocky Mountain and will partner with the AMBFHL to operate games for each league.

This year the league schedule will feature a 32 game schedule for all teams. Games begin October 2, 2015. The schedule will be balanced in which each team will have 2 home and 2 away games against each opponent This is possible due to the Southeast taking a leave of absence for this season.

Best of luck to all teams!

For the AMBFHL, the 2015-2016 season will feature a Provincial Championship tournament to determine our Bantam AAA league champion. This was approved by the board of directors due to the overwhelming success of the midget tournament and athletic development appropriateness within the female game. We are preparing our athletes for post secondary experiences and our league is adapting to provide them with such experiences. Shootouts are also returning this season with no changes to their formatting. The Allstar game is returning on Jan 3rd with the event being hosted by Rocky Mountain.

This year the league schedule will consist of a 30 game schedule for all teams This will be an unbalanced (unequal home and away) schedule with heavy emphasis on playing more games within your division to reduce travel time and expenses. North will play each division opponent 5 times for 25 games and 5 against the South. South will play each division opponents 6 times for 24 games with 6 against northern opponents. Playoffs will see best of 3 rounds with the top 2 in the South and North plus Host advancing to the Provincial Championship tournament.

Best of Luck to all teams!
